What causes socks to wear?

What causes socks to wear?

Torn jeans are cool; torn socks are not

Socks are made of either natural fibers or man-made fibers and usually a blend of both. Some fibers have greater wear resistance than others. However, no fiber is indestructible.

How long you keep your socks will depend on how often you wear. Not rocket science so far .…right? That’s why it’s important to have a full drawer full of socks so that you can wear a different pair all the time. When you come to think of it -  15 pairs does not seem like a lot. This will make sure that they last a long time.

In case you didn’t already know it socks are usually worn with shoes which means that our soft combed cotton Twin Roads socks will rub against the surface of your shoe. If the inside of your shoe is rough, then …well you know where we’re going with this.

The first area of wear is the heel. It rubs against the back of your shoe.

The next most common area of wear is in the ball of the foot.

The third area is the toes. If this tends to be the major area of wear for your socks it would probably mean that your shoes are too small or that you aren't clipping your toenails often enough.

Socks and shoes go together like a horse and carriage … ok so it doesn’t rhyme but taking proper care of your shoes will make your socks go a little further.
