The nature of the yarns, as well as the knitting process used in the manufacturing of socks, allows socks to easily fit different sized feet.

Socks are therefore sold in size ranges rather than a specific size.

There is an overlap between a women's sock and a men's sock. For this reason, women that have larger feet could fit into men's socks and men with smaller feet can fit into women’s socks.

Depending on one’s foot size, men’s and women’s socks can be interchangeable.
